Past Coronado Islander Harry Humphry Mellon, a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army and a businessman, was recently featured in a self-titled Wikipedia article.  Mellon, who graduated from Coronado High in 1964, also created the Job Order Contracting (JOC) process, which aids organizations in completing numerous construction projects through multi-year contracts.  He put this practice into place during his lifetime with his work as Chief Engineer at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE).  Mellon is also credited for creating The Gordian Group and serving as the Senior Vice President for the CRSS, one of the biggest architectural, engineering, and construction firms in the country.
