Coronado mansion death gets ‘true crime’ treatment

 — The queen of the true crime genre has taken on the mysterious death of Rebecca Zahau in her new book, laying out a case for murder at the historic Spreckels mansion in Coronado.

While best-selling author Ann Rule raises many questions surrounding the death, she provides few answers.

The case that captured the attention of San Diego and the nation is one of a handful of deaths she explores in the book, “Fatal friends, deadly neighbors and other true cases,” released last month.
