Dear CUSD Families:

The Coronado Schools Foundation is launching a new Coronado Summer Enrichment Program, grades K-12.  Taught by accredited teachers, this fee-for-service program will provide fun, innovative ways for students to strengthen their 21st century learning skills in many STEAM-related areas.

Dates:  June 11th through Friday, July 6th, 8 am to 12 noon, with July 4th a holiday.

Classes are one or two hours each for the four weeks and sample classes include:

For incoming Kindergartners:   Get Ready, Get Set…..Kindergarten (2 hours/day for four weeks)

For Kindergarten – 5th: Hands-on Science classes; Language Arts Game Show, Learn to Play the Violin/Stringed Instrument, Spanish for beginners; Island Readers; Lights, Camera Action (iMovie); Let’s Play Tennis, Dive into Drawing, Mathletics; Kicking it with Keyboarding; Real World Coronado, and more…..

For incoming 6th graders:  Get Ready for 6th Grade Math & Science!

For 6th to 8th graders:  Rock n’ Roll:  Literacy through Guitar; Conversational Spanish; Creative Writing Coronado Style; Cool Tech Tools for Schools; Theatre Production; Not Your Momma’s Book Club; Mosaic Magic (design); All About String (instruments); Action! How Movies Tell Stories: and more……

Grades 6/7 to Grades 12 (3 week classes): Musical Theatre/Acting; Summer Dance Workshop.

Children needing afternoon child care will be welcomed to join Camp Coronado, 12 noon to 6 pm, and will be escorted to the Recreation Center by Camp Staff, for an additional fee.

Classes and fees are being finalized and the website will be launched next week for viewing purposes. Registration will begin for CUSD families on April 10th at www.csfkids.org and will be publicized April 16th to the general public.  Registration will close on April 30th with a late fee charged after that date.  If you’d like additional information, contact the registrar at summerenrichment@csfkids.org or call 619-437-8059 after April 10th.
