Coronado SAFE invites incoming 7th and 8th grade girls to participate in the Sophia Camp for Girls and start the new school year with a sound mind, body and spirit. This female-only local day camp will take place Friday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Aug. 19 and is specifically designed to provide young ladies with the tools and training they need to navigate their most transformational years. This weekend escape will help young women build self-esteem, manage stress, identify with others, and develop a strong sense of self-awareness through activities such as yoga, art, dance, meditation, and breathing and concentration exercises.
The Sophia Camp for Girls is led, sponsored and hosted by Laura Plumb—a local Ayurvedic counselor and founder of VedaWise and Sophia Circles. Registration is $225. Spaces are extremely limited and camp scholarships will be available to families who demonstrate a financial need. WHAT THEY'LL LEARN & DO
WHY IT'S SO IMPORTANT
Middle school is a time of rapid growth, great pressure, and tremendous change in young women. Yet each young lady has distinct strengths and a unique wisdom that, if carefully cultivated, can help guide her through this transformation with a strong sense of self. The Sophia Camp for Girls is designed to serve as a kind of rite of passage, helping your daughter make the transition through these “middle years” with necessary life skills and an anchoring of wisdom and confidence.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
The Sophia Camp for Girls is led, hosted and sponsored by Laura Plumb. As an Ayurvedic counselor, Laura has been schooled in this ancient approach to wellness that considers optimal health as wellness in the emotional, mental, social and spiritual aspects of the individual.
To that end, Ayurveda has numerous tools to encourage psychological well-being, including Yoga, breath practices, stress management, and inner reflection. Laura has worked with women of all ages, backgrounds and concerns, and has particularly enjoyed her work with teen and pre-teen girls. She is the Founder of VedaWise, offering education in Nourishing Wisdom, and Sophia Circles, supporting women in remembering their sacred self.
