'Fly Navy' Sign Becomes Instant Landmark

There’s a new landmark on San Diego Bay, one of a military stripe.

Officials at North Island Naval Air Station have erected a lighted sign that reads “Fly Navy” as a celebration of the region’s role as the birthplace of naval aviation.

We saw it the other night driving south on I-5....so cool!  What a great tribute to Naval Aviation and all the people who have made it a proud tradition for over 100 years!
