The 2012 Frommer’s San Diego Guide was recently released and the 1906 Lodge at Coronado Beach was rated "Exceptional" in this best selling travel guide.
Of the hundreds of hotels in San Diego, the 1906 Lodge was one of only 10 awarded Frommer’s top rating, alongside the Hotel Del Coronado, the Lodge at Torrey Pines, and La Valencia Hotel.
According to author Mark Hiss, “unpretentious luxury, gracious hospitality, and generous servings of local history make this an unbeatable B&B experience.” Hiss also recommended the spa tubs, fireplaces, private entrances, and balconies or patios offered in the luxury rooms and suites.
The 1906 Lodge has received kudos from other travel guides including Fodor’s and is the #1 rated hotel in Coronado on TripAdvisor. It was also rated a Top 10 Romantic U.S. Hotel in 2011, according to TripAdvisor.
The 1906 Lodge is located one block off of Orange Avenue at 1060 Adella Avenue. It features 17 rooms and suites, each tastefully themed after a Coronado-related person or place. A full breakfast is served to guests. Other complimentary amenities include underground parking, WIFI, and wine and snacks every afternoon.
The 1906 Lodge is owned by several couples including Sue and Dave Gillingham, and Holly and Joe Jankiewicz of Coronado. For more information, see the 1906 Lodge website. Or plan a romantic staycation for Valentine's Day! Call 619 437-1900 for the best rates.
