Competition of Niedermeyer.
The first-ever CHS Drill Meet was a huge success. With 16 schools competing, some traveling from as far as Lemoore, the day was full of fierce competition. Captain Ireland of the CHS NJROTC described the event, “It was a great team event for Coronado High School, both for our competitors and our supporting cadets and parents. Our competing drill teams raised their game, earning first place in academics and basic drill. Congratulations to those team captains, Elena Wang and Tess Woodson. More importantly, we had exceptional parent and military volunteers, and our supporting cadets pitched in from 5:30am until almost 5pm ensuring the event ran smoothly. Having the Navy Parachute Team, the Leapfrogs, perform was the icing on the cake and made it a memorable event for all the competitors.”
The top three finishers of the event were: 1. Westview, 2. Lemoore, and 3. Coronado. Team events included drill competition and physical testing. Individual events included academic, male and female curl ups, and male and female push ups. Coronado ranked 1st for Academic overall and 3rd for Drill.
