Time Warner Cable's Best Moms Contest is open to students in grades 4 through 12 who reside in San Diego County.  This year, for the first time, students may create a short video or write an essay describing why their mom should be honored as one of "the best" in San Diego.

Up to 50 San Diego-area moms will be selected as Best Moms and honored at a celebratory luncheon on Mother's Day weekend, where they will receive an award and gift bag filled with goodies any mom will love!

One student winner will be selected from each of the three age groups – elementary school, middle school and high school – and will receive a Sony Tablet S.  The winning students' teachers will each receive a $250 gift card for school supplies!

Through its "Connect a Million Minds" initiative, Time Warner Cable supports efforts that inspire young people to build the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills they need to become the problem solvers of tomorrow. The Time Warner Cable Best Moms Contest encourages students to tell their personal stories using STEM skills such as computer literacy (all essay entries in the Best Moms contest must be typed) and introductory video production.

The deadline for video and essay submissions is Friday, March 9, 2012.  Essay entries may be submitted via email or U.S. mail.  Video entries must be uploaded to YouTube and submitted via email.  Entries are evaluated for creativity, style and content. Any submissions not meeting all of the entry requirements will not be eligible for judging.  Please see below for a downloadable entry form and complete rules and entry details.
