I recently had the pleasure of sitting down and speaking with Kory Kavanewsky, a long time Coronado local and Branch Manager of CMG Mortgage, Inc.

Kavanewsky is one of the lucky few who can say they are true Coronado locals. He was born right here at Coronado Hospital in 1978. He graduated from Coronado High School, attended San Diego State University and has a BA in Hotel/Business Management. He currently lives on the Island with his wife, Marni, and five year old son, Koehn. The great community feel and ability to ride bikes everywhere are some of the many positives Kory loves about his hometown.

Kory says: “I feel that CMG is a one stop shop for anyone looking for a mortgage. We’re a direct lender and a mortgage broker... all under one roof, and that makes us extremely competitive. Additionally, we lend in 45 states right from our office which can be quite convenient for those with second homes and/or investment properties out of state.” The Coronado Branch has recently moved to a new location at 1033 B Avenue, suite 105. The beautiful new office space is just off of Orange Avenue and conveniently located near the Coronado Post Office. Kory is excited to have a larger space to accommodate his team which now consists of 8 people.

He has also been recognized twice by San Diego Magazine as one of their 5 Star Award winners for outstanding service. “Our focus on client service, sound advice and competitive loan terms seems to be what sets us apart. We closely monitor client feedback and are always trying to improve our service levels,” explains Kory. He is committed to keeping Coronado great, and as a local, loves to stay involved in and around the community. He enjoys coaching and sponsoring the Coronado Little League teams, and supporting the Coronado Schools Foundation.
