Local Christ Church Student to Compete in National Geographic Bee

Christ Church Day School sixth grader, and Coronado resident, Sophie McLellan has qualified to participate at the state level of the National Geographic Bee sponsored by Google and Plum Creek.  Only the top 100 students in California advance to the state level.

Nearly 600 schools from the Oregon border to the Mexican border competed this year in school Bees representing thousands of students from grades four through eight. One winner from each state and territory will advance to the national competition which will be held at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington D.C. in May.

The California Bee takes place on Friday, April 4th, at California State University, Fresno.
