Man Going Door To Door Claiming He's From Borrego Solar?

A seemingly decent young man (blond hair, perhaps late 30s) came to our door this evening at 645PM claiming he's from Borrego Solar. We live on Ynez Place and he's been going up and down our street for now.

He read from a script on the back of his white folder (he wasn't well rehearsed at all) which stated that Borrego Solar was coming into town the next few days to do energy audits of your home.

When asked for a business card, he said he didn't have one and then wanted me to sign up for an appointment - when I looked at the appointment sheet, the top of the sheet read 'Greenhome' not Borrego Solar.

Borrego Solar is a real company but I'm not sure if this person if from there. Either way, I wasn't going to allow him or his colleagues into our house.

Any others experience this? Have more information?

I've had the opportunity to discuss what's transpired with Mr. Sateesh and have assured him that the door-to-door salesman was/is NOT an employee of Borrego Solar Systems, Inc.

Since February of 2009, we've solely focused our solar development efforts on large-scale commercial and government solar projects, and we do NOT do work with homeowners and consumers.

Anyone going door-to-door and representing themselves as an employee of Borrego Solar is doing so fraudulently, and he/she should NOT be trusted.

We've reached out to the local authorities and informed them of this unethical, unsafe, and questionable behavior and are trying to track down anyone involved.
