Smiles, energy and enthusiasm abounded on Saturday, May 12 during Martial Arts America’s 18^th annual Benefit Karate Tournament.  Proceeds from the tournament go to the Coronado Schools’s Foundation.  Parents and family members volunteered their time and competitors from Rancho Bernardo and Thousand Oaks joined their friends in Coronado to showcase their technical skills and sportsmanship.  Martial Arts America Leadership students and high-ranking black belts demonstrated a variety of forms and sparring techniques.

David Adams, third-degree black belt and instructor at Martial Arts America led students in the traditional stylized staff movements then went on to show his mastery of the more advanced forms using the traditional Okinawan staff or “Bo”.

Sensei Miko Peled, sixth degree black belt, owner and founder of Martial Arts America in Coronado, treated the crowd to a seldem witnessed, technically flawless execution of forms and self defense techniques against bare hand/fist fighting and defense against knife attacks.
