New Business: Ganosh Gourmet - Healthy gourmet food delivery to your Coronado home or office.

Where the magic happens: Vickie Jones (left), Wendy, and Liz Forsyth Lovell in their home away from home, the large, beautiful, certified commercial kitchen (in El Cajon) where they cook and package the Ganosh goodness for the folks back on Coronado.

There is a new business in town called Ganosh Gourmet and we are excited to share it with the community of Coronado. To read the entire story of how it all started, read this overview from Wendy McGuire.

By delivering food to your home or office, Ganosh Gourmet frees you from shopping, cooking, cleaning, or even thinking too hard about what you will be eating or cooking next. From the beginning, the theme of the food is to make it from scratch using the least amount of processed foods, using local ingredients as much as possible, and put out the kind of food you (or your mother) would cook for yourself. For example, the chicken broth is homemade, the apple sauce is homemade, and the pies are homemade.

Muffuletta Mondays

Every Monday is Muffuletta Monday. Celebrate a great New Orleans tradition by ordering and enjoying one of these incredible sandwiches that is a meal in itself. Invented by Italian immigrants to New Orleans, the muffuletta starts with a loaf of fresh baked bread. It is hollowed out and filled with homemade olive salad, then layered with salami, ham, mortadella, mozarella, and provolone. The salad soaks into the bread for a few hours before eating and makes it...WOW!

Channa Masala

Delicately spiced chickpea and potato dish. Perfect for vegetarians, but loved by all, it is made with onions, healthy ginger, a bit of tomato, and spiced with a wonderful blend of coriander, cumin, turmeric, bay leaves, fenugreek, black cumin seeds, and a homemade garam masala recipe handed down from my husband's mother.

German Meat Loaf (Hackbraten)

Cooked German style, with a crust of rye bread in the pan, this is a beautifully spiced combination of beef and pork, nutmeg, basil, ginger, parsley, onion, and carrots, topped at the end of the cooking cycle with a touch of cream to make a perfect gravy.

Thai Chicken Noodle Salad
This salad is fun to look at, smells delicious, and is incredible to eat! It starts with angel hair pasta cooked to just firm, then tossed with a variety of delicious fresh veggies including cabbage, carrots, all kinds of peppers, green onions, and cilantro. Delicious roasted chicken is added to the mix before it is dressed with a sauce that is so yummy, it is hard to resist drinking it and skipping the salad. The sauce includes fresh lime juice, tahini, sweet chili sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, peanut butter…10 ingredients in all. The whole thing is topped with chopped roasted peanuts and black sesame seeds.

Carrot Cake Cupcakes

The perfect end to a wonderful meal, this little taste of carrot goodness is topped with a creamy frosting that will melt in your mouth. These are not plastic "Hollywood" cupcakes, but real, homemade ones that taste like they came from your grandmother's kitchen.

How to order

1. CHOOSE YOUR FOOD ITEMS
Browse our online menu and choose from gourmet salads, soups, sides, entrees and desserts. When you see something you want, indicate quantity and simply click on the ORDER button.

2. CHOOSE YOUR DELIVERY DATE
When you’ve picked your food items and are ready to checkout, you will be asked to choose a delivery date. We currently deliver on Mondays and Wednesdays only. Orders must be placed by Friday for delivery the following week. If you would like food delivered on both Monday and Wednesday, you must place a separate order for each day.

3. PLACE YOUR ORDER
Click on the PLACE ORDER button and enter your charge card and delivery information with any special instructions. We deliver (for free!) to your home or office in Coronado Village, Coronado Shores, Coronado Cays or the Coronado military bases. When your order arrives, sit back, relax and enjoy our gourmet home-cooked food!

We tried the corned beef (with onions and carrots) and the spaghetti with homemade alfredo sauce. Both are outstanding. The corned beef is "to die for"!!! The spaghetti with alfredo was so good that our 6 year old said, "Mom can we have this every night?" We had the food delivered, which was great for a Friday night dinner! We love having dinner show up on our doorstep!
