Orange & Park: January Sunsets

The summer tourists may get the best beach weather, but they miss out on the amazing Coronado winter sunsets. Between November and March, the sun goes down well below the southern tip of Point Loma from most vantage points along Coronado's coastline. On clear days with high clouds, locals and visitors alike flock to the rocks along Ocean Boulevard to watch the sky turn bright orange and pink as the sun disappears into the Pacific.

Below, we bring to you our favorite sunsets of January 2010 as part of a new Photos of the Month series on the Orange & Park Blog.

ABOUT ORANGE AND PARK

Orange and Park Coronado Neighborhoods Print
Orange & Park is a site created by Coronado locals with Coronado-related art prints, stickers and a blog.

The Coronado Neighborhoods screen-print breaks the whole island into different boroughs. We exercised artistic freedom to plot the sections of Coronado that lacked established names and borders. From time to time we post explanations and stories behind selected areas like the one above.
