Another busy week for PAWS of Coronado. We are at full capacity at the Coronado ACF, there are 34 cats and 6 dogs currently available for adoption with another 20 cats and 7 dogs in foster care till there is room at the ACF. We welcome anyone interested in fostering a pet, please see our website for more information about our foster program.
At our meeting this past Monday, the Board agreed to lower the adoption fees for the cats to $50 for one cat and $25 for a second. Senior to senior adoption fees will remain $35 for one cat and $50 for a pair. These fees will remain in effect until our cat population is back to normal. Bring a cat carrier as you may want more than one, it is kitten season! The ACF and PAWS does have portable cardboard carriers as well for you to have if you do not have one of your own.
Pet of the Week
Samantha
Samantha is a female Calico. You would never guess her to be 10+ years old, a member of our Baby Boomer Program.
She's gorgeous with a lustrous tapestry coat of bright orange, black and white. This girl is truly sure of herself and very attentive. In fact, she didn't miss a beat getting acclimated to her new surroundings. She's be a girl who will greet you at the door and meet your visitors.
Samantha was relinquished by her caregiver who developed health issues preventing them from giving Samantha the attention she deserves. This beautiful Calico kitty has lots more to give, so come and meet her. You'll see for yourself, she's pretty special and a total love.
You can meet other dogs and cats available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street. Hours of operation are 9am - 4pm, every day but major holidays. To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com. All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.
As school time approaches, consider adding a pet to your home to act as a Study Buddy to keep the children company while they do their homework assignments. The stress of test taking can be greatly reduced having a furry friend to lighten the load.
Piglet
Piglet is a female chocolate brown Chihuahua variety. She's is still a youngster, estimated to be about eight months old and weighs just over nine pounds. Little Miss Piglet has a soulful personality. Her dark eyes seem to look right into your heart, trying to tell her story of love and loss. She was found stray and is getting used to her new surroundings. This beautiful little girl responds very well to gentle words and her eyes sparkle when offered a treat. Once you meet her, you'll want to wrap your arms around her and tell her that her future is as bright as her little personality.
