I spent the evening of the power outage with City employees and watched first hand as they worked through this crisis. Whether it was having power generators moved to sewer pump stations, staying in close contact with County Public Safety Officials, or dealing with traffic lights and the like, our City's employees shined when the lights were turned off on us. I rode with Sgt. David Craig for four of those blackened hours and saw the work of our Police and Fire Fighters up close and I am in awe of the professionalism and dedication they bring to the table when the chips are down. They were calm and comforting to our residents and were there to meet our needs. These first responders have families to care for, but they did their duty, manned their shifts, and treated us like their family too. The Citizenry of the City of Coronado was well served during the blackout and I say thank you to our public servants for a job, extremely well done!!
