San Diego Police Department Conduct Dignitary Training in Coronado (Photo)

Thanks to Dan McGeorge for alerting us and sending us this image of the San Diego Police Department conducting their dignitary training in Coronado earlier today.

Since many dignitaries stay at the Hotel del Coronado and at North Island Air Station, the training took place near RH Dana Place and Ocean Boulevard.

Thanks for the explanation. The parade of motorcycles had me puzzled.

Now I have to wonder if these were the same people handing out tickets.

It sickens me to see all of these "toys" that are purchased by our city, and I've even noticed the "volunteer" vehicles consisting of large-gas-guzzling-SUVs making their rounds. Why we even need such an inventory of these various vehicles -- an a staff to operate them -- is beyond me, and as a long-term Coronado homeowner, I wish that someone in their current or future city government would work toward "tightening the fiscus" in regard to this waste. And along that vein, I feel that it's ironic that we are -- and have been -- at a crisis level with our school's under-budgets, yet we never consider cutting back on the City's "Public Safety" machine.

Furthermore, has the City Manager, the Mayor, or City Council members given any thought to what the ever-increasing future debt is going to be for the retirement of our "Public Safety" employees? I believe that, just like our "neighbors-across-the-Bay," we are going to be hit bad financially if this isn't corrected!

a bad show of futility, we do not need this big police arrogance to give traffic tickets, ... lets get that beatiful building back to the citizens, and make a great cultural center like in Laguna, edu
