Silver Strand closure due to traffic accident

UPDATE: 95 Year Old Stevens Friedman of Coronado was a passenger in a car that collided
with at least one other vehicle on the north-south boulevard alongside
San Diego Bay shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the county
Medical Examiner’s Office:

CORONADO — A multivehicle accident with one fatality and other injuries has shut down traffic on part of the Silver Strand in Coronado, authorities said.

The Strand is closed in both directions between Leyte Road and the Coronado Cays housing development.

One person was killed in the accident and several were taken to hospitals, said Coronado police spokeswoman Lea Corbin.

The accident occurred in the 5500 block of Silver Strand just before Cays Boulevard, she said.

Is there any picture of Mr. Friedman?? I am sure there are many like me that grew up in Coronado and knew everyone at the time but now names are fuzzy. This really tugs at my heart strings. There will always be hazards on that road.
