The Department of Recreation Services offers a myriad of classes for the children of our community. Each spring they host a showcase of some of the classes, giving the young participants an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. This year is the first ever showcase held in the Community Center gymnasium.
Tuesday, May 15, 2012 over 100 students from twelve different classes provided entertainment for a capacity crowd of parents, siblings, and others. Each class had a different colored shirt with a design created by Recreation Assistant Ashley Henry. The Master of Ceremonies was Recreation Leader Gina who introduced the classes and provided jokes and riddles in between performances. Families also brought a dish to share for a dinner after the event.
Classes performing included: Mini Gymnastics; Boys’ Gymnastics; Ballet and Tap; Twirl, Spin and Jump; Hip Hop (Tuesday); Gymnastics I and II; Gymnastics III and IV; Hip Hop (Thursday); Tricks; Cheerleading; Jump Rope (4-7 years); Jump Rope (6 years and up).

This is great! Thanks so much Kellee for all the photos, telling us what we missed is one thing but being able to show something like this makes it much more enjoyable!
I love these photos! We are so lucky to have this amazing Rec Center for our community. My children participated in many of the activities offered at the old Rec Center. Thanks for posting, Kellee!
