CORONADO — The Coronado Unified School District is considering using a teacher effectiveness program called the Marzano Protocol, an evaluation process that includes teacher observation and feedback by a principal or assistant principal.
The protocol is accessed through a web-based tool called iObservation.com, created by Dr. Robert Marzano and other founders of Learning Sciences International, a Pennsylvania-based company.
At a meeting Thursday, the school board considered two versions — an 18-month plan that costs approximately $60,000 and a 3-year plan that costs about $73,000.
