The VetBus is coming to Coronado and New furry friends at the Coronado ACF

Have you heard about the VetBus, a mobile veterinarian clinic?

Dr. Vera Heidolph, DVM fulfilled a vision by launching the VetBus in April of this year with the goal of  providing affordable spays, neuters, dentals, general surgery and medicine to rescue organizations and pet owners throughout San Diego County.

I have toured Dr. Vera’s state-of-the-art custom-built 33 foot mobile clinic and it and Dr. Vera are very impressive. The VetBus is equipped with a double sterile surgery suite, a dental suite with digital dental x-rays, and housing for dozens of cats and dogs while they await treatment or recover from their procedures.

With the hope of making a day in Coronado a weekly event, the VetBus is scheduled to be outside of the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) this Thursday, 07/19/12 from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Although Dr. Vera and her technicians will be seeing seven animals from the ACF this Thursday, she welcomes anyone who wants to bring their animal in for a check up.

To bring your pet in to see Dr. Vera this Thursday, you can either call her at (760) 230-6040 to make an appointment or you can stop that day as a walk-in.

This is the start of something really great for the pets in Coronado and the surrounding communities!

Pet of the Week

Princeton

Princeton is a male Russian Blue variety, about 8 years old.  He was found stray, searching balconies for someone to love him. This boy will just melt into your lap if you hold him.  He's shy to new encounters but shows every willingness to offer his love and affection if you are like minded.  Princeton is our Ivy League boy whose main objective is to educate others in the fine art of giving and receiving love.

Poncho

Poncho is a male Chihuahua variety, about one year old and six and a half pounds in size.  This little guy is white and tan in his markings and a big love.  He's content to sidle up to you, enjoying a neck rub and the sweet talk from his caregivers.  Besides totally handsome, Poncho is calm and quiet, an easy going kind of guy.  This pint-size little dog is one who will keep you company and love you unconditionally.  He's a natural at making you feel special and attended to.
Come to meet him and let his soulful eyes show you his commitment to making your life a better place.

Luna

Luna is a female Tortoiseshell kitten, born in the middle of May.  As a baby, she was found under the hood of a car.  Once discovered, a foster mom took her into their home and gave Luna the TLC she needed to help her feel safe and loved.   She is sweet as can be and eager to cuddle and accept your affection.  This beautiful kitten is ready and willing to start her new life as a loved member of a new family.

You can meet other dogs and cats available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street.  Hours of operation are 9am - 4pm, every day but major holidays.  To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com.   All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.  PAWS of Coronado would like to announce our new program, Feline Baby Boomers /Senior to Senior Adoption Program.  Cats 10+ years adopted to parents 55+ years get a reduced fee of $35 for the first cat, $15 for the second.
