Transcontinental bike trip to benefit those affected by traumatic brain injury

Friday, May 18 2012 marked the final day of the Biking For Brains event.  Over the past 28 days, we have accomplished a great deal:

2,904 miles

95,900 feet climbed

29 hotels

9 states

24 lbs lost during training and riding

818,000 peddle strokes

Over $26K for Wounded Warriors Project

Hundreds of OGT employees and students at OTA participated in a health challenge.

My life has been tremendously blessed.  A few of my recent challenges (accident, Biking For Brains ride and the economy) have helped “bang me upside the head” and required me to be introspective. I am thankful for those experiences.

Thanks to all of you who have ridden, been interested the ride, been engaged in Biking for Brains, contributed to WWP and supported my family and me.  I believe we have made a small difference in a big world.  And that, right now, should lighten our souls.

This is a great story! You are truly an inspiration! Our son has TBI from a rollover SUV accident he suffered on May 21, 2011. Yesterday was his one-year anniversary and we celebrated by launching TryMunity, a new social network for survivors of traumatic life-changing events, and their loved ones and supporters. I would love to share your blog story on our site, TryMunity. com and I would love for you to join the site and share your stories of triumph over TBI.
