USS Peleliu Amphibious Group Leaves for Seven Month Deployment (Pictures)

Late this morning I happened to be in the right place at the right time to proudly watch the USS Peleliu and the USS Green Bay make their way out of the channel and into the Pacific for a seven month deployment.  May the time go quickly and everyone come home safely.

A sailor looks on as the USS Peleliu makes her way out of the channel .

Here's to a safe deployment for the USS Peleliu and her Amphibious Group.

The USS Green Bay makes her way to the open Pacific Ocean, but not before one last look at the Coronado Bridge.

The USS Green Bay quickly moves out of sight.

Almost completely out of sight, the USS Green Bay is scheduled for a seven month deployment.

Thank you to all the Sailors and Marines and their families who will endure the next seven months separated from each other.  Your sacrifice is appreciated and not ever forgotten.
