The new 'Village' sign is up and the remodeled entrance almost completed (see more photos here). In preparation for the opening this summer (hopefully June), we asked our Facebook fans what type of movies they would want to see. Over 300 of you voted and 28 gave us additional comments. Here are the results:
Big Commercial Movies (155)
Independent Movies (32)
Foreign Movies (9)
Classic Movies (14)
Film Noir Movies (2)
All of the above! (99)

Comment by Elizabeth Nolan on May 10, 2011 at 9:23am Village Theater would seem a perfect place for morning / afternoon run of old classics. I understand wanting to see first run movies here, but one wonders if Coronado alone can support that. Will people come from elsewhere to see a first run movie given that parking is a problem and the bus schedules are being cut back?
I do believe that people will come to see classics, independents, foreign films, and old time movies (which were made for the BIG SCREEN as TV had not yet been invented) -- offering these in the morning and afternoons when families are at work and children are at school might provide some added revenue.
As it is, I am looking forward to seeing whatever you offer -- I want to support the return of cinema to Coronado.
Thanks, Elizabeth
