Last weekend I spent a couple of hours buying bunting at the hardware store as well as a 1/2" pvc pipe and zip ties (buy local!). I used clear plastic zip ties to attach the two swags to two sections of cut pipe after drilling three holes in each section of pipe, then I hung the bunting from my vinyl fence using white cotton twine. I thought it made the front of my house look very festive and showed my patriotism. Someone else must have really liked it too because this morning I discovered that my bunting had been stolen off of the fence. It was only hanging up for four days!!! I am SO disappointed that someone would steal my bunting. If you see bunting that is made of thick nylon fabric attached with zip ties to a 1/2" pvc pipe that is four feet long please call Officer Dan McGehee at 619-522-7350.
Thank you,
Jennifer Landry

Thank you for your reply. As a fellow CUSD employee whose paycheck was cut you can appreciate how much I scrutinize my budget each month. All of my "fun money" for June went towards the purchase of this bunting and supplies from Coronado Hardware. So, not only did this person steal the bunting from 921 E Ave., they also stole a teacher's fun money and a lot of faith in her community. I wish whomever stole it would put it back! The irony in all of this is at the Optimist Club meeting this morning Chief Scanlon talked to us about how much crime had dropped in Coronado. Too bad there are still petty thieves out there!
