Ok, it's raining in Coronado and my 'outside' plans fell through...or I should say, got soaked. So, I thought I'd give away a few 92118 t-shirts and Coronado stickers to spread some holiday cheer and get more folks excited about eCoronado.com.

Here is the contest details for new members as of 12/12/09:

1. Join eCoronado.com and leave a comment on this blog post telling us why you love Coronado.
2. Leave your comment by Tuesday, December 15th by 11pm PST.
3. We'll pick 2 winners for shirts and up to 10 winners for stickers.
4. If the winners aren't local, we'll ship the prizes to you for free.

If you have any questions, leave a comment in the blog and we'll answer it. If you haven't joined eCoronado.com, now is a great time to sign up and let us know why you love this island. Plus, you might win!

We moved here from the East coast... I'm liking this fall weather.

I grew up in Coronado, and what I love most is coming back for the traditions of my childhood. The latest example: Bringing my daughter to Christmas Open House, watching the parade, walking in the middle of Orange Avenue to visit all of the stores... that's how I know the season has begun. Coronado will always be home.

A great place to raise children, and the only place in San Diego County that i could possibly know more than 100 people in just a few square miles. It's a small town right on the skirts of the 7th largest city in the U.S.

We moved here this summer from Scottsdale, Arizona. One thing I love most about living in Coronado is the reaction people give when they find out where I live. It's almost always the same reaction "Oh I LOVE Coronado!"

What makes this such a special place to me is the overall state of mind everyone seems to have--everyone seems happy and nicer! You have to ask yourself-- how could I possibly have a bad day when I live here. When I walk my dogs through the neighborhood, I can't help but appreciate the artistic independence expressed in the architecture, the flowers, the sun setting over the ocean at night, seeing some of the same faces (other dog parents), and of course, the many dog friendly businesses. I also appreciate the care and respect for the military and of our national holidays! It's truly a surreal moment watching kids ice skate with a background full of palm trees, ocean, helicopters, runners, kids playing in the sand, Christmas music and a sweet retired couple enjoying a glass of wine, smiling at each other.

Thankfully it's not just one thing that makes this place so special!

I LOVE Coronado because of the closeness of the area, and the great high school experience I had at CHS. My History teacher became Mayor, My spanish teacher was my Water Polo coach, and evryone knows who every one else. The great teachers at CHS gave me great opportunities and showed me how to do, think, and teach all sorts of different, crazy, self-improving and fun things. Every one is soo nice in NADO, the tight sense of community is definately something i will miss while in college!!

I love Coronado because I can walk or ride my bike EVERYWHERE! Other things I love about Coronado include the Firehouse Open House, Concerts in the Park, 50cent movie rentals from the library, the Christmas Parade, plays at Lambs Players Theater, drinks and dancing at McPs, the Glorietta Bay Innfree & available tennis courts just down the street, my great snapshots of Coronado painting (reprint) from Coronado High School students, sharing my great coronado cottage with the hubby-to-be ... and the list goes on! I also really want to know where I can find myself the "Coronado" license plate holder ... and the unofficial rules for how long you must live here before you reach status where you can have one :)

Charming. Original. Romantic. Optimal. Natural. Alluring. Delightful. Outstanding. There are as many words to describe this wonderful city as there are people who have seen it. I have never experienced such a sense of place as I have in this beautiful, little town. Such incredible memories of growing up here, being able to walk to school even in grade school, playing in Central Park, and the best beach in the entire world! The idyllic feeling you get on a perfect summer day. The beauty of the city as it comes to light during the holidays. The feeling I get every time I think about it living away from it and the pride I feel whenever I tell someone where I am from...there is no place like it on earth!
